The Oberbremsrätekonferenz

The Oberbremsrätekonferenz is a symposium and conference, bringing together experts in the field of Railways from Central and South East Europe. Since its foundation in 1995 by Knorr-Bremse GmbH and ÖBB, the conference is organized in Austria or a country of the Central and South East European area, together with local partners, every one and a half years. While in our founding year participants from Austria and Hungary took part, now Railway experts meet from several European countries for the exchange of experiences.

During this event, persons worthy of particular merit in the field of brake technology are rewarded with the title "Oberbremsrat". Meanwhile, 56 persons rank among this exclusive board.

The conference participants coming from Central and South East European countries are high-ranking specialists from the technical and commercial sectors of Railway operators, such as managing directors, project managers, sales managers, engineers and designers. They are proposed by the organizational committee.

DI Frank Minde, Deutsche Bahn AG and head of the brake department at the UIC in Paris, presides the symposium. The actual Oberbremsrätekonferenz is carried out under the chairmanship of DI Manfred Reisner, managing director of Knorr-Bremse GmbH, Austria.

The 22nd Oberbremsrätekonferenz and 20th International Central European Symposium will take place in Bad Ischl from September 11th to 13th, 2024.
